Here at Dot Kids, children bring their own snacks and lunch in a named lunch box each day. We follow healthy food principles at the centre, where the most healthy food choice is encouraged first. Having lunch boxes helps children develop their independence and self-help skills, especially for the older children as they get ready for school.
We do regular baking at the centre, which the children often get involved in. This teaches them basic mathematical concepts such as measuring and volume as well as helping them to understand where food comes from.
Nutrition is so important for young children as it is directly linked to all aspects of their growth and development. Children are also able to better fight off colds with the support of proper nutrition.
Teaching children healthy habits will help to set them up for a life of proper eating and nutrition.
