At Dot Kids Early Learning Centre in Carterton, we endeavour to create a home away from home where passionate, reflective, and nurturing teachers offer experiences for your children to discover, explore, and grow.
We recognise that our unique, bicultural heritage is founded in the Treaty of Waitangi & Te Tiriti o Waitangi and that our children have a right to experience the languages, music, art and stories of the cultures of Aotearoa. We welcome, value and respect the diversity within our centre, embracing the principles of whanaungatanga (Relationships) and manaakitanga (Respect and care) to support children, teachers and all families to become increasingly aware of our culturally diverse community.
We seek to complement the important role of family/whānau by developing respectful partnerships. We value and respect the unique knowledge and contributions of families/whānau in the decision making process around their child’s care and education.
We believe in a sustainable environment and will seek to awaken in each child, an appreciation of their natural surroundings and its resources. Our environment is open ended, stimulating, nurturing and adaptable to the individual needs of each child.
Our aim is that when children leave Dot Kids, they will be competent and confident learners, secure in their sense of belonging and have a love of learning that will continue throughout their lives.
